Who are we?
Baking for Freedom is a group of friends and students based out of the Oakville area that works in partner with the International Justice Mission.
What do we do?
Baking for Freedom hosts bake sales to raise money for the International Justice Mission. IJM works around the world to bring an end to violence in the developing world. They help free slaves, human trafficking victims, victims of sexual violence, and much more. To find out more about the International Justice Mission and the work they do, visit https://www.ijm.ca.
WHY?
As you are reading this, there are 47 million people enslaved around the world and 2 million children being sold in the commercial sex industry. The world we live in is very unjust, but it doesn't have to be. Here at Baking for Freedom, we believe that creating a just world is possible- if we all work together.
We're doing our part acheiving social justice by raising funds so that the International Justice Mission can rescue victims (of slavery, human trafficking, sex slavery, etc), bring perpetrators to justice, restore survivors, and strengthen justice systems.
